ARTIST'S STATEMENT
As a child, I never left home without crayons and coloring books. Sometimes the crayons melted in the car and I still used them. The colors changed, but my passion remained. As an adult I have traveled to more than 65 countries chronicling people and journeys through artwork. I paint en plein air and from live models. I also work in my Arlington/VA studio and exhibit at the Art and Frame Falls Church frame gallery. My work is versatile and is expressed in watercolor, oil, mixed media and 3-D jewelry art.
My portraits capture raw emotion through a no frills approach that fosters connectivity between the participant and subject.
The landscapes carry a range of experiences and emotions from threatening, serious to joyful and invite you to share the experience.
The still-life work is full of vitality that helps explain the linkages between what we see, touch and feel and how this interactivity generates a bond between humans and objects.
Become a participant in the experiences that are chronicled within!
